WSOF 12 Recap & Highlights: Palomino Stops Gonzalez In The First
(Luiz Palomino takes out Lewis Gonzalez with a thunderous head kick)
WSOF 12 went down last night from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, taking place on NBC’s sport network.
Apart from the headliner, this card failed to deliver like previous World Series Of Fighting Events and turned out to be fairly lacklustre after all.
The main event between Luiz Palomino and Lewis Gonzalez was pretty even up until the halfway point when Palomino cracked his opponent with a devastating right hand. Gonzalez managed to hold on but brutal high kick with just under one minute to go sealed the deal knocking him out cold.
The rest of the main card bouts were rather stale to be polite. UFC cast-off Ronny Markes picked up a unanimous decision over Cully Butterfield after smothering him for three straight rounds. That fight followed three more action-less bouts which saw Elvis Mutapcic, Brandon Hempleman and Matt Sayles all pick up decision wins.
