WSOF 22 Results: Rousimar Palhares Causes Yet Another Controversy
World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 22 went down tonight (August 1, 2015) from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares put his belt on the line against UFC veteran Jake Shields in the bad blood-fueled main event. Not surprisingly, Palhares locked on a kimura to earn an agonizing submission win in the third round, but once again he also caused more controversy by seemingly holding onto the hold for too long. He also repeatedly poked Shields in the eyes in the second round, prompting a warning from referee Steve Mazzagatti.

Bantamweight champ Marlon Moraes took on an opponent of his own namesake in touted undefeated prospect Shaymon Moraes. The older champion gave the younger Moraes a lesson to remember, battering him with a series of third round shots before locking on a vicious rear-naked choke to earn the tap.
In other action, Clifford Starks outlasted Mike Kyle, and UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov’s brother Abubaker Nurmagomedov beat Jorge Moreno by unanimous decisions for a successful WSOF debut.
