This coming Friday night (September 5, 2014) the UFC will roll into the East Coast for UFC Fight Night 50 from Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut.
Stacked up with a long list of potentially entertaining bouts, the event features a pivotal middleweight main event between No. 4-ranked Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and No. 7-ranked Gegard Mousasi. Both fighters are former Strikeforce champions looking to rise up in one of the toughest divisions in the UFC, and both are well-rounded, dangerous combatants who can any fight anywhere.
Mousasi is well known for his word-class kickboxing and boxing, but he showed a dominant ground game in submitting noted wrestler Mark Munoz in the main event of May’s UFC Fight Night 41 from Berlin, Germany.
“Jacare” is one of the finest Brazilian ju-jitsu practitioners to ever set foot in an MMA cage, but he lately he’s shown knockout power in his wins over Yushin Okami and Derek Brunson. With Mousasi and Souza so diverse in their abilities, this fight is a tough one to predict.
