Who’s at fault for Rampage Jackson leaving the UFC? Joe Silva!

joesilvavig1Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been very vocal about his plans to test the waters and perhaps sign with another organization once his current UFC contract is up. While his reasons seem to change from day to day, Jackson’s latest object to blame comes in the form of UFC matchmaker Joe Silva.

After Jackson lobbied for a rematch with Forrest Griffin at UFC 153 — which ended up going to Phil Davis — or getting a crack at Glover Teixeira, Jackson was miffed and voiced his displeasure with coming out empty handed.

“This is why I’m leaving the UFC, I don’t understand what Joe Silva’s doing,” Rampage said to Inside MMA. Jackson has long sought to avenge his title loss to Griffin back at UFC 86. When Chael Sonnen had dropped out of the Griffin fight to coach TUF opposite Jon Jones, Rampage figured that he’d finally get the rematch he desired. But that wasn’t the case. “Joe Silva have a complex, something’s wrong with him. The guy can’t match shoes, what kind of matchmaker is this guy? What is he thinking? Give me Forrest.”

Jackson was critical of the Davis-Griffin matchup and suggested that it would be “boring” while a rematch between he and Griffin would be a fight that “would sell.”

As of right now, there is no word as to who Jackson will be fighting next. But, whoever it is, expect him to be unhappy.
