Watch Pat Barry Get Knocked Out In His Glory Debut

Former UFC heavyweight and K-1 kickboxer Pat “HD” Barry recently stepped away from the sport of MMA, citing his love of pure striking after being forced to defend countless wrestlers as one of the more one-dimensional combatants fighting in the Octagon.

For that reason, Barry returned to his original love of striking, making his comeback at last night’s (May 3, 2014) Glory 16 event from the 1STBANK Arena in Denver, Colorado.

However, the re-debut didn’t exactly go as Barry may have hoped. Facing South African Zack Mwekassa, Barry was floored by a big shot early on, taking the count in an attempt to continue.

It didn’t matter much, as Mwekassa saw his opening and unleashed a perfect uppercut that nailed Barry flush and sent him to his third knockout loss in four fights after getting finished by Shawn Jordan and Soa Palelei in his final two UFC bouts.

There’s no doubt that Barry is a thunderous knockout striker who comes to entertain each and every time out, but with the knockout losses mounting, it may be time for the 34-year-old heavy hitter to consider hanging up the gloves.
