Andrei Arlovski fights at UFC 195 against Stipe Miocic, watch the video of his brutal finish against Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva. Size isn’t everything…

2015 saw a number of resurgent heavyweights in the UFC, one of which was former champion of the division Andrei Arlovski. A stunning knockout victory over Travis Browne during their fight of the year front runner extended Arlovski’s win streak to five, and a humdrum decision over Frank Mir at UFC 187 made it 6-0 since losing to Rumble Johnson in the World Series of Fighting.

It’s strange to think that it’s been ten years now since Arlovski was the UFC heavyweight champion, making the 36 year old’s recent accomplishments that much more impressive. One such milestone was avenging his Strikeforce loss against Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva in epic fashion to round out 2014. Another fighter in the division that has unfinished business with the Belarusian striker is the current champion Fabricio Werdum, having lost to Arlovski by decision at UFC 70.

For that reason, Andrei Arlovski could easily get another title shot if he gets through Stipe Miocic at UFC 195. That’s no easy task though, as ‘The Pitbull’ will face a technical striker with great footwork and solid wrestling skills.

Check out the video of Arlovski wasting Silva:

The number two ranked heavyweight has been hit and miss since rejoining the UFC though, as slow paced decision wins over Brendan Schaub and Frank Mir showed. The former really could have gone either way, so let’s hope ‘The Pitbull’ will be on the form we witnessed at UFC 187 against ‘Hapa.’
