Jon Jones Delivers Inspiring Speech To Albuquerque Youth Club

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been absent from the sport for only a few months now, but his legacy still leaves a large question mark over the division. Daniel Cormier won the vacant belt against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, where ‘Bones’ was originally scheduled to face ‘Rumble’ himself, but was stripped of his title following felony charges brought against the P4P (pound-for-pound) great.

Jones defended his 205-pound title eight times, most recently beating Daniel Cormier by decision at UFC 182 in January. Now awaiting his day in court regarding the infamous New Mexico hit-and-run, ‘Bones’ seems to have started filling his days with more positive activities. Speaking at an Albuquerque boys and girls youth club, Jones had a strong message to deliver:

“Work your hardest until you achieve what you want to achieve in life,” said Jones. “I Know that you guys can do anything that you want to do. If I did it, you guys can totally do it. So, believe in yourself.”

Although he is currently indefinitely suspended, there is still a chance for Jones to make his presence felt, and to try and mend some of the numerous bridges he burnt with his outlandish behaviour this year.

His possible return is highly debated, and some feel we’ll never see Jon Jones enter the octagon again. If he does though, the MMA world hopes that ‘Bones’ will have matured, and that happenings like the video above from TMZ are not just purely media stunts.
