Heading into their pivotal bout at tomorrow’s (Wed., July 15, 2015) UFC Fight Night 71 from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California, No. 10-ranked Holly Holm and No. 11 Marion Reneau have a lot at stake in the main card bout.

Holm brings in the pressure and promise of her undefeated record. After coming into the UFC with an insane hype train that had her talked about as a future challenger to Ronda Rousey, she has several questions to answer after a somewhat lackluster debut win over Raquel Pennington at February’s UFC 184, a bout where ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ admitted she was affected by the octagon jitters.

She’ll have her hands incredibly full with Reneau, the underrated 36-year-old challenger who has won two straight UFC bouts in 2015, submitting Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 62 after edging Alexis Dufresne by decision at UFC 182.

The two talented challengers met up at today’s UFC Fight Night 71 weigh-ins for the traditional staredowns, but this one ended up quite different than any standard face-off. Unwilling to relent, both Holm and Reneau kept facing the other one down, avoiding the prompts of UFC matchmaker Joe Silva until their respective teams finally made them break it after 30 long and awkward seconds.
