Video: At 19 Years Old, Conor McGregor Guaranteed He Would Be UFC Champion

He once said, “They call me Mystic Mac because I predict these things.” Of course the “Notorious” Conor McGregor was referencing how he predicts his first-round knockouts, but it now seems as if “Mystic Mac” has predicted something else as well.

After only five fights in the UFC, the brash and outspoken Irish knockout artist is set to fight for the featherweight title on July 11, 2015 at UFC 189 from Las Vegas, Nevada, as long as the champion shows up that is.

The always confident McGregor clearly believes he will dethrone the only 145-pound champion in UFC history in Jose Aldo, but it seems as if he predicted that he would be a UFC champion many years ago. At a mere 19 years of age, prior to even his days as a two-division champ in Cage Warriors, McGregor stated that his dream was to wear UFC gold, and he even guaranteed it:

“My dream is to be world champion in the UFC,” he said. “And I will be. Guarantee it.”
