Valentina Shevchenko Obliterates Priscila Cachoeira

Valentina Shevchenko

Priscila Cachoeira had no chance against Valentina Shevchenko.

Shevchenko vs. Cachoeira served as the co-main event of UFC Belem. This was “Bullet’s” debut at flyweight. Shevchenko was counting on a title shot with a dominant performance.

Shevchenko looked sharp early. She landed a clean left hand followed by a kick to the body. Cachoeira was taken down. An elbow landed for Shevchenko and she busted open her opponent. Cachoeira’s face was a crimson mask. Shevchenko continued to pepper the body of her opponent with some elbows to the head mixed in. Round one was a total mismatch.

The second stanza began and Shevchenko once again found her way to top control. She got the crucifix position and rained down punches. Shevchenko went for the kimura, but didn’t get it. She got back to the crucifix position and referee Mario Yamasaki looked closely. Shevchenko went to mount and hammered away. Yamasaki let the fight go on for too long. Finally, Shevchenko locked in the rear-naked choke for the submission.
