Urijah Faber Says Conor McGregor ‘Felt Like A Little Girl’ When He Grabbed Him

Right before the official weigh-ins for his blockbuster UFC 189 interim title headliner against Chad Mendes from Las Vegas tonight (Sat., July 11, 2015), Conor McGregor made headlines by getting into a backstage scuffle with ‘Money’s’ Team Alpha Male teammate Urijah Faber.

‘Notorious’ spoke up in an interview about the altercation afterwards, noting that nothing really happened, but that he could’ve dumped ‘The California Kid’ on his head with a double leg takedown had he wanted to.

Not surprisingly Faber had a very different view of the situation, which he explained in an MMA Digest Periscope video. According to Faber, McGregor stormed into a bathroom he was in looking ‘like a crackhead,’ and felt like a ‘junior high girl’ when he grabbed him:

“Okay, so what happened was I was in the bathroom, and somebody was trying to get in. I open the bathroom stall and McGregor was standing there, and we’re face to face. Then, so you saw the video. It was super random, just on the back hallway and there just happened to be a camera crew there.

“Not trying to pick on the guy who was cutting weight, but dude looked like a crackhead, man. He felt like a junior high girl when I grabbed him, to be honest. But I know he’s been cutting a lot of weight and he’ll be bigger tomorrow, but he’s not going to be enough for Chad.”

Always the consummate professional he’s known as, Faber noted accurately that McGregor was in a weaned state at the time, and that he didn’t want to take advantage of that having gone through so many draining weight cuts throughout his decorated fight career.

But although the ‘Notorious’ will come to the cage in a few short hours weighing much more than the 145 pounds that he hit the scales at, it’s tough to argue with ‘The California Kid’s’ assertion that McGregor could be a bit drained come fight time.

He’s looked the same at previous weigh-ins and shown up to get the job done before. Will he be able to do the same against Mendes when the cage door closes at the MGM Grand Arena?
