UFN 42 Salaries Revealed: Sanchez Takes $140,000 While Pearson Gets $30,000
Diego Sanchez picked up one of the most controversial wins in UFC history last weekend against Ross Pearson, when he was given a split-decision win after being battered by the Brit for three straight rounds.
“The Nightmare” was lucky to say the least to walk away with the decision and the according to the New Mexico State Athletic Commission, the victory also earned him the nights biggest payout with $140,000.
The salary information was released by the commission to Sherdog.com earlier today for Fight Night 42 which took place in the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 7.
Despite headlining the event – his seventh straight – and being the former world champion, Benson Henderson only took home $90,000 for his work in the main event. “”Bendo” defeated top Dagestani prospect Rustam Khabilov, stopping him in the fourth round with a rear naked choke. Khabilov took home just $17,000.

Benson Henderson: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus)

The figures do not reflect deductions for insurance, licenses and taxes etc. The salaries do not include special “UFC bonuses” or pay-per-view cuts. Also the figures do not include money which is paid to a fighter from his sponsors, which can often be the majority of the fighters income.
For instance, following the event UFC President Dana White revealed that Pearson would still be receiving his ,000 win bonus despite the controversial loss.
