UFN 36 Medical Suspensions: Lyoto Machida Gets Six Months Out

Ultimate Fight Night 36 is well in the rear view mirror now, and the title picture at middleweight is an exciting place in the event’s wake. Lyoto Machida is already interested in a fight with Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, and a possible title shot is in ‘The Dragon’s’ near future.

That was the thinking until today, when the official medical suspensions were made public. Machida leads the pack with a potential six-month lay off, his grotesque foot injury is displayed in the picture above. What could this mean for his title hopes?

Well the six months is just an early number until he is medically cleared, but there is a chance that ‘The Dragon’ could face a long sit. The five round decision win against Gegard Mousasi could well have cost Machida his title shot. Check out the full medical suspensions list below:
