UFC on Fuel TV 8 Post-Fight Interviews: Wanderlei Silva thanks Japanese fans

UFC on Fuel TV 8 started out slowly from Japan with several decisions that many deemed overly boring. However, that turned around quickly as the main and co-main events delivered some epic knockouts for the action-hungry fans.

Wanderlei Silva spoke about his epic win over Brian Stann, thanking the Japanese fans who propelled him to his legendary status in MMA. Silva remains unsure whether he will stay at Light Heavyweight or not, noting that there are some huge fighters in that division. Some believe the time is right for Silva to retire with a win, as he has nothing left to prove.

Mark Hunt, another Pride veteran, appeared to be in some trouble early on against Stefan Struve on the ground. But he fought back strong and got the brutal knockout over the 7-footer, breaking his jaw in the process. Hunt said he’s ready to make a run for the UFC Heavyweight title and will fight anybody.

Diego Sanchez was also on hand to address his contoversial split decision win over hometown hero Takanori Gomi. Sanchez felt that he earned the win handily by doing more damage.
