UFC Officially releases Featherweights Leonard Garcia and Bart Palaszewski

Well if you didn’t believe Dana White when he said they had approximately 100 cuts to make to the current roster, then you better start believing.

As the cut train keeps rolling we see two more known fighters with too many consecutive losses on their records, dropped from the UFC roster entirely. Palaszewski who has now lost 4 of his last 5 fights made the official announcement on his twitter:

Looking back on his tenure with Zuffa, Palaszewski’s most impressive win came at WEC 45 when he won a split decision against Anthony Pettis in 2009. Hopefully the Polish native can bounce back and get into a good promotion to work his way back.

Garcia on the other hand is well known as a crowd-pleasing brawler with more balls than a game of snooker. Racking up 6 fight of the night awards, 1 knockout of the night and 2010’s fight of the year award versus “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, none of it seemed to be enough to keep a fighter with 5 straight losses employed by the top promotion in MMA.

Garcia also made the official announcement via his twitter:

Although it’s unfortunate to see him go, there simply isn’t room in any company for employee’s who aren’t performing and getting successful results.

As a little bit of hope for the future however, that all might change as Garcia recently claimed in an interview with MMAFighting.com that he’ll be switching over to team Alpha Male to train with the recently praised and successful new coach Duane Ludwig.

Garcia also looks to be in good spirits with a bright future on the horizon as he also claims he’s already been offered contracts by both World Series of Fighting and Bellator.

Whatever he decides, at the age of 33 I’m sure he still had a few barn-burning-brawls left in him for our viewing pleasure. Stay tuned to Lowkick for further updates on both fighters.
