UFC Vegas 45 Results: Lewis vs. Daukaus

UFC Vegas 45

LowKick MMA will be bringing you UFC Vegas 45: Lewis vs. Daukaus results throughout the night (Sat. December 18. 2021) live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Headlining the promotion’s final event of the year; a high-stakes heavyweight clash between recent interim title challenger, the #3 ranked contender, Derrick Lewis, and surging division challenger, the #7 rated, Chris Daukaus.

Taking main event honors for his fourth consecutive event, Lewis, the promotion’s most prolific knockout artist at heavyweight, looks to rebound to the winner’s enclosure against Daukaus following a rather one-sided ground strikes knockout defeat to the undefeated, Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 265 in August. The win earned Gane interim heavyweight title spoils.

26-8(1) as a professional, New Orleans-born heavyweight knockout ace, Lewis had amassed an eye-catching four-fight winning streak prior to his loss against Gane, including a pair of decision wins over both Blagoy Ivanov, and Ilir Latifi, before knockout wins over Aleksei Oleinik, and a particularly massive uppercut finish over Curtis Blaydes back in February.

Prominent finisher, Daukaus, the elder brother of UFC welterweight, Kyle Daukaus recently left his role as a police officer in Philadelphia to pursue fighting on a full-time basis, and looks to lodge the biggest victory of his eight year professional run with a win over Lewis.

12-3 as a professional, Daukaus, who has scored 11 knockout wins in the process, has begun his UFC tenure with a quintet of knockout wins over Parker Porter, Rodrigo Nascimento, as well as common-foes, Oleinik, and a stunning finish over Shamil Abdurakhimov back at UFC 266 in September.
