TUF 22 Finale Preliminary Results: Gabriel Gonzaga Earns Lackluster Victory

It was once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Friday, December 11th, 2015) will come from in the form of TUF 22 Finale. Headlining the card are Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Konstantin Erokhin vs. Gabriel Gonzaga in a heavyweight bout closed the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 at the UFC TUF 22 Finale. This fight was not very good at all. Mostly a stand-up fight, but Gonzaga had some good moments in the third round with some ground and pound. After 15 minutes of lackluster action, Gonzaga won the fight by unanimous decision.

Ryan LaFlare and Mike Pierce met in a welterweight bout at UFC TUF 22 Finale. This was a very fun fight with the action going back and forth with both men having their moments. In the end after three hard-fought rounds, the judges gave the win to LaFlare via unanimous decision.

Geane Herrera and Joby Sanchez met in a flyweight bout at UFC TUF 22 Finale. The first round was all Sanchez as he used his stick in move nicely and won the round. Herrera made some changes between rounds and came out in the second round on fire. Herrera dropped him out with a left hook then finished him on the ground.

Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Abner Lloveras in a featherweight bout opened the Fox Sports 1 preliminary bouts at UFC TUF 22 Finale. This was a fast paced fight that had a mixture of stand-up and grappling. Gruetzemacher was the better fighter on the feet and stuffed a lot of takedown attempts. The judges agreed and gave him the win by unanimous decision.
