Struve (28-11) has lost his last three in a row. He is no longer the 21-year-old prospect. “The Skyscraper” is looking at a must win in Prague.

As for Brazil’s Rogério de Lima (16-5-1). The 33-year-old has been in the UFC since 2015 but has never had the signature win that has helped define his career. He is hoping Struve will serve such a purpose.

Round One

Struve towers over De Lima as he usually does in his fights. De Lima cracks Struve with an overhand right that sends “The Skyscraper” to the canvas. De Lima follows Struve to the ground and ends up in Struve’s half guard. Struve is looking for an under hook but he eats some hard left hands. Struve gets his hips under de Lima and gains butterfly guard. He, however, is pressed against the cage and has no room to extend back. De Lima lands some hard right hands to Struve’s head.

De Lima is pressing his forearm into the throat of Struve. He lands several hard punches on the inside and Stuve just locks his hands around de Lima so he can’t posture up with big shots. De Lima passes into half guard and lands a forearm shiver. The Brazilian passes easily to full mount with 20 seconds left. If there was ever a 10-8 round this is it.

He works for an arm-triangle choke as he tries to pass into full guard but de Lima gains an under hook and Struve is forced to defend. He looks for the arm triangle again. This time, however, he gets it. De Lima taps.
