UFC on Fuel TV 5 Recap: Dan Hardy wins one for the home crowd
UFC on Fuel TV 5 is finished and gave the fans from Nottingham, England something to cheer about. As previously reported, Stefan Struve stopped Stipe Miocic via strikes in the 2nd round. You can read that article right here. In other action, countryman Dan Hardy survived to win an exciting decision over fellow Welterweight Amir Sadollah. A great win for the Brit, as Hardy extends his winning streak after his much-discussed four fight losing streak. Brad “One Punch” Pickett lived up to his nickname’s billing with a knockout of Yves Jabouin.
Matt Wiman put on an impressive performance with a Submission of the Night victory over Paul Sass. John Hathaway picked up the win with a decision over John Maguire. Duane Ludwig had to forfeit his Welterweight bout with Che Mills due to an unfortunate injury. Hopefully he heals up quick and effectively.
With the win, Struve has called for a fight with Fabricio Werdum in his next bout. Both fighters have excellent submission skills, with edge probably going to Vai Cavalo. However, Struve would have the reach and size advantage. It could be an interesting bout with possible future title implications.
