UFC on FOX 2: Munoz injured, Michael Bisping to face Chael Sonnen in Chicago

5618763241 b5fcfed706UFC President Dana White offered the following on twitter, “Munoz is injured and out of the FOX fight! Now it’s Chael Sonnen vs Mike Bisping jan 28th and the winner will fight Anderson for the title.” And just like that a fight card that had been eagerly awaited became even more eagerly awaited.

According to ESPN.com, Munoz injured his right elbow during training and was flown to UFC headquarters in Las Vegas for examination. The injury was deemed severe enough that it will require surgery, which will put the middleweight on the shelf for an undisclosed period of time.

Taking Munoz’s place will be Michael Bisping who is currently riding a four fight winning streak.

After the announcement was made, it didn’t take long for the verbal back and forth to begin as the UFC shared the following via twitter:

Bisping: “Chael Sonnen’s best weapon is his mouth, and that’s something that’s going to be absolutely useless in this fight. I see a very bright future for Chael Sonnen as a used car salesman very soon.”

Sonnen: “I am going to knock the teeth out of this snot nosed Brit who calls himself royalty, who calls himself a Count. I am MMA royalty and America will tune into the Chael Sonnen show next Saturday on FOX.”
