On Thursday, open workouts took place for the quickly approaching UFC on FX fight card. The event will take place this Friday from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and it will be headlined by a lightweight battle between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller. News broke on Tuesday that, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal had tested positive for the steroid Drostanolone at the January 7 Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine fight card. Lawal defeated Lorenz Larkin via a second round knockout on that card.

Kenny Florian joins the UFC's live event coverage team

Last week, word came down that Kenny Florian might have to retire due to a lingering back injury. Florian told the Boston Herald, “I’m just kind of in a holding pattern.
