When Georges St. Pierre takes on Carlos Condit this upcoming Saturday we will see if this highly anticipated fight will live up to its hype. Not to lower the expectations, but following is a reminder of some previous fights that failed to deliver.

UFC President Dana White appeared on ESPN’s “Sportscenter” today in anticipation of the blockbuster Georges St-Pierre-Carlos Condit fight this weekend in Montreal. Not surprisingly, talk shifted to the idea of GSP fighting Anderson Silva in a much-publicized superfight. White was his usual bold self, and was quoted:
“Anderson Silva will be there this Saturday watching, and if St-Pierre wins it’ll be a huge fight for us. It’ll probably be the biggest fight in UFC history,
Speaking to MMAFighting.com, UFC interim Welterweight champ Carlos Condit waxes on a variety of topics surrounding his huge UFC 154 bout with Georges St-Pierre. Condit says that ring rust shouldn’t be as much a factor as many people think, but he does wonder about the strength o GSP’s surgically repaired knee. He touches on the subject of Anderson Silva being at the fight, and how many may be focused on GSP’s future superfight with Silva rather than the task at hand in Condit. The Natural Born Killer
The injury curse continues for the UFC as Gray Maynard is the latest to go down and be forced out of his lightweight bout with Joe Lauzon.

The injury curse in the UFC continues, as Shane Carwin is forced to withdraw from his fight with Roy Nelson due to a knee injury. UFC President Dana White tweeted a news, also adding that the Ultimate Fighting Championship are now looking for a replacement.
Interestingly enough, MMAWeekly.com reported back in September that Carwin has injured his knee, but will still compete against Roy Nelson. “The Engineer” then appeared on Inside MMA, threating Roy Nelson with a knockout
After initial reports stated that Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson facing each other at UFC 156 in February, it now appears that the fight may not happen.
