Although UFC 151 has been cancelled for almost a week, talk is still going on about one of the biggest let-downs of the year. With Henderson out on an injury, the UFC offered Jones a fight against former Middleweight contender, Chael Sonnen. Jones’ refusal of the fight ultimately lead to the cancellation of the entire card. It came out last week that former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Mauricio Shogun Rua was offered the title shot against Jon Jones at UFC 152 in Toronto. Shogun ultimately turned down the fight, citing a lack of time to prepare for Jones. Lyoto Machida did the same, but Shogun as in a brutal war with Brandon Vera at UFC on Fox 4 , while Machida knocked out Ryan Bader without taking any real damage. Shogun’s manager Julio Heller recently spoke up about the decision:

News surrounding the cancellation of UFC 151 continues to surface as time passes, and recently it came out that Dan Henderson did indeed injure his knee in training some time ago. According to his Muay Thai and striking coach Daniel Woirin, Henderson partially tore his MCL while defending a takedown in practice, but continued to push on in hopes of being able to fight.
