The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the world’s largest MMA promotion and LowKickMMA provides daily UFC news and exclusives. Beginning in 1993 the UFC introduced organized and sanctioned MMA to the United States. The promotion set out with the goal of finding the ultimate fighting champion pitting all disciplines of martial arts against each other in a tournament-style with a champion crowned on the night.
ZUFFA’s recent announcement of the company’s customized accident insurance coverage, which covers all Strikeforce and UFC fighters inside and outside of the cage, appeared to be both welcomed and applauded by all. Last week’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter 13 was a doubleheader of action-packed fights that saw both Team Lesnar and Team dos Santos earning wins. The wildcard fight between Team JDS’ Javier Torres vs. Team Lesnar’s Chuck O’Neil was announced and Junior dos Santos said goodbye to assistant coach Lew Polley. In three weeks time two of the finalists from TUF 13 will square off for a UFC contract at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, headlined by a bout between Clay Guida and Anthony Pettis.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com and officially announced on UFC.com the trilogy between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will have to wait. Both fighters suffered injuries during their respective training camps. To replace Edgar and Maynard for the main event at UFC 130 will be Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill and the co-main event of Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson. Who could be Mixed Martial Arts biggest star?
Where has the time all gone? The month of April has ended and we are now just getting into May. The 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter is getting closer to it’s finale and what a season it has been so far. This hasn’t been the most exciting season in the history of the show, but it’s kind of a refreshing change to see the two coaches respect each other. The fights haven’t been memorable and the cast of fighters extremely predictable, but I’m still curious to see which fighters from the show could emerge

Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champ Dan Henderson and former PRIDE Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko are now set to go head to head in July. The match-up is set to take place July 30th and will likely be held at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Though it is expected to to be promoted as a Heavyweight fight, reports indicate that both competitors have agreed to a catchweight of 220-pounds.
