Looking into the future of the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones

Jon Jones has now dispatched the very best in his weight division within a span of only two years. He’s been faced with challenge after challenge, and continues to not only triumph, but to learn and grow from every experience both inside and outside the octagon. With every opponent came a different challenge physically, and a new lesson morally. With Shogun, he proved to himself and the world that he possesses the skills to fight fire with fire, and ended up defeating Shogun in his strongest area. He

Dan Henderson: I will fight my fight against Jon Jones

Dan “Hendo” Henderson came out today with a few comments about his strategy to defeat Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight championship. Never one to beat around the bush, Henderson was frank in his discussion about the title fight at this weekend’s UFC 145. While Jones did not finish the former champion Rashad Evans as he had three previous champions, he utilized accurate strikes to keep Evans well outside of his range. That is not the way to be successful against a fighter like Jon Jones

Cain Velasquez will now face Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva at UFC 146

Cain Velasquez has a new opponent for May’s UFC 146 in Las Vegas. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will step in to face Velasquez in his UFC debut. Dana White made it official today:
Don’t believe any of the BS you read on the internet. Cain is fighting Bigfoot Silva May 26th in Vegas

Velasquez was originally slated to face Frank Mir in a perceived number-one contender’s match, but these plans fell apart when original title challenger Alistair Overeem had a

UFC 145 Recap, Results, and LowKick.com Awards

UFC 145 Main Card results and recap:The grudge match between Rashad Evans and Jon Jones may have finally come to an end this evening as Jones handily defeated his arch-rival in a long and technically-fought bout. Both fighters seemed very confident in their timing early on, as Evans scored a few good punches and Jones threw his usual myriad of unpredictable kicks.  While Evans did register a headkick of his own, he was wobbled repeatedly during the fight due to Jones’ superior reach and striking

Michael Bisping: I will beat Chael Sonnen in a rematch for the title

Recently, UK MMA star Michael Bisping came out with a bold claim. Never known to be the most soft-spoken of fighters, he believes that Chael Sonnen will indeed best Anderson Silva in Rio (or wherever the fight actually happens). He will then beat Sonnen in a rematch upon being given an immediate title shot. Bisping lost a hotly-contested bout versus Sonnen on UFC on Fox 2 earlier this year. Some thought he won the fight, others vehemently denied this. Bisping was quoted with the following via

Lorenzo Fertitta reacts to controversial caption posted online

Last Saturday, a highly controversial caption appeared online that while perhaps intended as humor, seemed to insinuate that UFC President Dana White was such a fan of Jon Jones, that he had bet an exorbitant sum of money on him to retain the title at UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia. Understandably, number-one contender Rashad Evans reacted with anger upon hearing these allegations. While the site did issue a retraction, there still has been much fallout that could ultimately have legal ramifications.

Chael Sonnen: Alistair Overeem did not test positive for anything

Tuesday night Chael Sonnen came to the defense of under-fire Heavyweight Alistair Overeem, who awaits the decision of NSAC concerning his license to fight at UFC 146. Blaming the media, Sonnen essentially considered Overeem’s issue to be an overblown phenomenon created by MMA media. Familiar with the issue of elevated T:E levels, Sonnen had the following to say on Fuel TV’s “UFC Tonight”:
“Congratulations to MMA media, right when I think you’re incompetence can’t get to any higher level, the

Rory MacDonald ready for UFC 145; credits GSP and Tri-Star gym

Rory MacDonald will be fighting in the highest-profile bout of his career when he steps into the cage on Saturday in Atlanta. He will face Che Mills in the co-main event of UFC 145, looking to prove that he is indeed the future of the Welterweight division. Surrounded by a large amount of hype, the 22-year-old MacDonald finds himself with a record of 12-1 and would seem to have confidence past his years. When asked about his next opponent, he responded:
“I really don’t know all that much about him, that’s

Alistair Overeem’s manager confident his client will fight at UFC 146

The soap opera of UFC 146’s main event continued yesterday with an interview involving Alistair Overeem’s manager Glenn Robinson. Robinson seemed confident that Overeem would indeed be involved in the Heavyweight championship bout on May 26 in Las Vegas. His words sought to clarify exactly how Overeem’s failed drug test would be clarified, in the sense he allegedly did not test for elevated levels of Testosterone, but rather only an irregularity in Testosterone to Epitestosterone levels. Overeem’s levels
