Ian McCall: I am getting paid twice to beat up somebody that I know I can beat

Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall is set to take on Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson this Friday night for another semi-final fight in the UFC’s flyweight tournament. Their original March fight was mired in controversy as a judge miscalculated and ruled the fight in Johnson’s favor. It should have gone to a sudden victory round. The two fighters are going to throw-down to see which one will face Joseph “Beefcake” Benavidez for the inaugural UFC flyweight championship.

Rumor: Brock Lesnar will return to the UFC in 2012

News broke today that Brock Lesnar indeed may return to the UFC after showing his face ringside at UFC 146. The much-discussed former UFC champion recently made another foray into the world of WWE after suffering a TKO loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. Many thought that Lesnar was indeed finished with MMA, as diverticulitis and two vicious knockouts in a row began to take their toll. However, today it appears that is not the case.
Soon after UFC 146, rumors swirled about Dana White meeting with Lesnar.

Johny Hendricks: I am the true number-one contender

Earlier this week UFC Interim champion Carlos Condit came out and said that if Georges St. Pierre is not ready to fight in November, he would fight surging contender Martin Kampmann instead. The news apparently does not sit well with fellow Welterweight Johny Hendricks, who feels he is the rightful number-one contender to Condit’s belt. Coming off a decision win over Josh Koscheck and a one-punch knockout of Jon Fitch, Hendricks had the following to say:
“Carlos Condit, he said he wanted to fight Kampmann.

Buddy Roberts: from fight fan to fighter making his Octagon debut at UFC on FX

Buddy Roberts (11-2) will be making his UFC debut this Friday night at UFC on FX 3. I first caught Roberts on the local MMA scene in Reno and Northern California a few years ago, where the up-and-coming fighter was proving himself a force to be reckoned with. Roberts is one of those fighters who is comfortable whether he is on his feet or on the ground. Roberts is riding a five-fight win streak going into his Octagon debut and took some time out of Fight Week to speak with Lowkick.com.

Georges St-Pierre’s road to recovery: I feel great

Georges St-Pierre is on the mend and feeling great. This should sound like music to his fans’ ears, as the French-Canadian UFC Welterweight Champion has had to sit out his last two scheduled fights (UFC 137 and UFC 143) due to an ACL injury of his right knee. We were told that he would be out of action for at least 10 months.
Five months later, St-Pierre seems to be coming along fine in his rehabilitation. In his latest “Road to Recovery” video, posted by St-Pierre on his Youtube channel, he says: “My knee

Greg Jackson gives his support to Jon Jones

Greg Jackson, coach for Jon “Bones” Jones, has formally pledged his support for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion, who was recently arrested for DUI after crashing his Bentley into a utility pole in Binghamton, New York, in the early-morning hours of May 19. Jones had the support of the UFC behind him including CEO Dana White, Malki Kawa (his manager) and one-time rival Rashad Evans. In spite of that there has been a degree of backlash against Jones, stemming from what could be labeled as

Carlos Condit: I will fight Martin Kampmann if GSP is not ready

UFC Interim Welterweight champion Carlos Condit has been the subject of much debate lately, stemming from his decision to wait for a fight with titleholder Georges St. Pierre. Hoping for GSP to be back by November, some support his decision while others believe he should defend his belt once while the true champ heals. Today, a new twist on the story has arisen. Carlos Condit has come and stated that if GSP suffers a setback in rehabilitation, he will accept a fight in November regardless. This finding may
