UFC Honors Retired WWE Champion Daniel Bryan With Online Tribute

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan announced on Monday via Twitter that he is retiring from pro wrestling due to medical reasons. He tweeted out the following:

“Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I’ll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude.”

Bryan has been out of action since last April after he suffered a concussion. Bryan has suffered several concussions during his career.

Bryan signed with WWE in August 2009 and appeared on the first season of NXT. He would win the WWE Title (four-times), Intercontinental Title (one-time), United States Title (one-time), and Tag Team Titles (one-time) during his WWE career.

The UFC took a moment to acknowledge Bryan’s retirement and posted this on Twitter:

Bryan has been a long time fan of MMA and trains part-time with Benson Henderson.
