UFC Fight Night 58 Medical Suspensions: Dollaway Gets 180 Days For Possible Broken Rib
Featuring five finishes on the main card alone, it’s hardly a surprise that last Saturday’s (December 20, 2014) UFC Fight Night 58 from Jose Correa Gymnasium in Barueri, Brazil, resulted in a rather lengthy medical suspension list.
Spearheading the list is none other than previously surging middleweight C.B. Dollaway, who picked up a 180-day suspension pending medical examination of his right rib after Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida destroyed him with a first round body kick.
Machida will only be out of action for 14 days following the rather effortless victory.
Former bantamweight champion Renan Barao was suspended 30 days for his third round submission win over Mitch Gagnon, who will also be on the shelf for 30 days.
Other notable suspensions went to Mike “Biggie” Rhodes, who was suspended 180 days depending on an X-ray of his right hand following his disappointing 75-second submission loss to Erick Silva, and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 3 finalist Marcio “Lyoto” Alexandre, who also got 10 days pending an X-ray on his left hand.
