UFC Fight Night 82 Preliminary Results: Burkman Dominates Noons

Josh Burkman vs. K.J. Noons

It was once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, February 6th, 2016) will come in the form of UFC Fight Night 82. Headlining the card are Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Josh Burkman met K.J. Noons in a lightweight bout to close the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 at this event. Burkman dominated this fight with his constant movement and being the more aggressive fighter. Noons appeared to hold back his aggression and had a lackluster performance in this fight. Burkman won the fight by unanimous decision.

Damian Grabowski met Derrick Lewis in a heavyweight bout at this event. This one did not last long, and it was because of one mistake that Grabowski made. Grabowski went in for a takedown right away in the first-round but was stuffed. Lewis got on top of him and landed some big shots that ultimately ended the fight.

Ray Borg met Justin Scoggins in a flyweight bout at this eventUFC Fight Night 82. This was a straight to the point fight. Borg was trying to do anything to win the fight because Scoggins was dominating the fight. Not only standing but the ground too. Borg seemed frustrated in this fight and even pulled guard, which is rare in MMA. Scoggins won the fight by unanimous decision.

Noad Lahat vs. Diego Rivas opened the Fox Sports 1 preliminary bouts in a featherweight bout at this event. Lahat controlled the first round with his grappling and several submission attempts. In the second round, that all changed. Rivas landed a flying knee to the face of Lahat and Lahat went out cold.

Mickey Gall met Mike Jackson in a welterweight bout to finish off the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card at this event. This one did not last long at all. 45-seconds in fact. Gall dropped him with a straight right then locked in the rear-naked choke for the win. They had CM Punk go inside the cage and shook hands with Gall after the fight. Punk did an interview and said that he would like to fight at UFC 200 in July. UFC President Dana White said after the fight that the promotion would announce a date for the fight soon.

Opening the UFC Fight Pass prelims for UFC Fight Night 82 was Artem Lobov vs. Alex White in a featherweight bout. Lobov was looking to throw bombs while White was looking to wrestle. The story of the fight was just that. White had his moments on the feet, but on the ground, he shined like a star in the sky. In the end, the judges agreed and gave White the win by unanimous decision.
