UFC Fight Night 71 Averages 801,000 Viewers On Wednesday Night

Just days following UFC’s back-to-back shows (UFC 189 and TUF 21 Finale) the UFC held another event on Wednesday night. The show did not have to go up against any stiff competition, which is a good thing for UFC brass.

UFC Fight Night 71 drew 543,000 viewers for the preliminary fights from 8:00 pm EST – 10:00 pm EST on Fox Sports 1.

Four fights were included in that two-hour airing. Those fights were: Igor Araujo vs. Sean Strickland, Masanori Kanehara vs. Rani Yahya, Jessica Andrade vs. Sarah Moras and Sam Sicilia vs. Yaotzin Meza.

UFC Fight Night 71 took place Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.

The event’s main card averaged 801,000 viewers from 10:00 pm ET and 1:04 am EST on Fox Sports 1. The event did a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

The main card featured six bouts. Those fights were: Matt Dwyer vs. Alan Jouban, Kevin Lee vs. James Moontasri, Manny Gamburyan vs. Scott Jorgensen, Holly Holm vs. Marion Reneau and Tony Ferguson vs. Josh Thomson.

The event was headlined by a heavyweight bout between former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir and touted prospect Todd Duffee.

Following the event, Fox Sports 1 drew 211,000 viewers from 1:00 am – 2:00 am.EST for Fox Sports Live!
