UFC Fight Night 70 Medical Suspensions: Machida, Dias Out Indefinitely
For two UFC Fight Night 70 main card stars, the price of stepping inside the Octagon is a steep one. The Florida State Athletic Commission has dished out medical suspensions and seven competitors are on the list.
Topping the suspensions are former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (22-7) and featherweight Hacran Dias (23-3). Both fighters will be out indefinitely.
At UFC Fight Night 70 in Hollywood, Florida, Machida battled Yoel Romero (10-1) in a middleweight clash. “The Dragon” was knocked out in the third round due to some vicious elbows on the ground from the “Soldier of God.” Machida will need to have his head cleared when he gets a CT scan in order to compete again. He must also get an approval from an ENT specialist.
As far as Dias goes, he will need to have his right foot examined due to a possible injury. “Barnabe” scored a split-decision victory over Levan Makashvili (7-2). Dias must get medical clearance to resume competition.
