UFC Fight Night 66 Prelims Results: Tuck Submits Bang

Tae Hyun Bang KOs Kajan Johnson1

UFC Fight Night 66 hits our screens early this morning (Saturday May 16th, 2015) at the beautiful Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila. The top of the card will feature an eagerly anticipated featherweight showdown between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber.

First up we had flyweights Nolan Ticman and Zhuikui Yao, in quite an eventless scrap. Ticman moved well throughout the fight, but did little in the way of offense. A pursuing Yao was frustrated by the end of the fight, split decision for Yao (!?)

Jon Delos Reyes against Roldan Sangch-an made it two at flyweight, and it was on at a fast pace. Roldan was on fire in round one, and opened a huge cut on Delos Reyes early in round two. Reyes comes back beautifully to get a rear naked choke, what a win!

Ning Guangyou vs Royston Wee at bantamweight now, and it was the TUF China winner Ning who started out with big combos. Wee looked tired by the end of the opening round, and started to get chopped down by the leg kicks. Wee gets rocked at the end of round two, and as Guangyou moves in for the finish, they cut to the ads….OK he got the finish.

Li Jingliang takes on Dhiego Lima at welterweight next, BOOM Jingliang opens with a cracking right hand and Lima goes down like a lump. Out cold for the first round knockout! Kajan Johnson taking on Lipeng Zhang at lightweight now, and the first was a grinding effort from Johnson. Second round is stale, and third is even more so. Johnson by decision.

Tae Hyun Bang vs Jon Tuck is the feature preliminary bout for the show. Bang starts off with some hard punches, Tuck with a takedown but Tae Hyun is back up quickly. Huge hooks by Tuck and Bang is out on his feet, Tuck then follows him to the mat for the rear naked choke win in round one. Great fight and a statement by Jon Tuck at 155 pounds.
