UFC Fight Night 59 preliminary card live results from 6 PM ET……

UFC Fight Night 59 goes down tonight (Sunday January 18th, 2015) from the TD Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts. The headliner is the much hyped Conor McGregor vs the not so much hyped Dennis Siver. The main card attraction is apparent, but don’t sleep on the UFC Fight Night 59 preliminary card.

SBG product and training partner of “The Notorious”, Cathal Pendred faced off against Sean Spencer in a welterweight attraction. Pendred comes out rushing, clinches and shoots. Huge takedown as he slams Spencer with the double scoop. Pendred rocked by a right hand on the feet, Spencer drops him now and nearly finishes.

Pendred survives and shoots again, he doesn’t want to stand here. Round two now, nice boxing by Pendred and a head kick. Spencer is just loading up on his combos, Pendred looking amateur with his striking. Nice late takedown for the Irishman, and he has an arm lock from crucifix. Spencer gets out. More good boxing from Spencer in round three, but Pendred also gets some hard shots in.

Close round, but you’d imagine Spencer is winning as the final buzzer goes. UD for Pendred? That is a terrible decision.

Also at 170 pounds is John “Doomsday” Howard vs Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin. Low kicks by Howard, Larkin looking to box. Larkin uses the jab, Howard the hooks. Larkin drops Howard and swarms him, big TKO win as Herb Dean steps in. Great welterweight debut.

Zhang Lipeng takes on Chris Wade now, and it’s a big low blow by Lipeng to open the fight, ouch!! They restart and it’s wade with a big right high kick. Another low blow by Zipeng damn, he loses a point. Wade turning it to a clinching game in the second round, another low blow, that’s three from the Chinaman. I zoned out, is it over? Yeah, Wade wins by uber-clinch. Decision.

Flyweights Patrick Holohan and Shane Howell square off, and the Irish fans are going crazy! Big right hand by “The Hooligan”, and he is looking sharp on the feet. It goes down and Holohan takes the back, and a one arm RNC now, looks tight. He frees his other arm, and it’s a tight choke now. Great surviving by Howell. Round two now, and Holohan is making it gritty with an early takedown.

Howell looking tired, and “The Hooligan” takes the back mount now, 2-0 to the Irishman. The third starts and Holohan is a lot less aggressive. Howell chasing, but Holohan takes him down. Dominant decision win for Holohan

Up to lightweight, and Frankie Perez goes up against Johnny Case . Perez lands an early takedown, but “Hollywood” has a very tricky guard. Case raining down bombs on Perez from his guard, great work here. Perez works a heel hook after a stuffed takedown, but “Hollywood” is wise to it. On to round three, and Case hits Perez with some hard combos to open the round.

Full mount now and Perez is in trouble, “Hollywood” batters his man for the third round TKO win.

Opening the FOX Sports prelims was Charles Rosa vs Sean Soriano at 145 pounds. Rosa switching stances, Soriano stalking and hunting the head. Leg kicks by SS, but Rosa takes him down. Soriano working on a triangle, back to the feet and they exchange wildly. Soriano looking very sharp, and Rosa is limping from leg kicks.

Now Soriano is caught in an armbar, but does well to escape. Rosa takes the back now, and now he has SS in a neck tie but the buzzer goes. Round three and they exchange big shots, the leg kicks are there again for Soriano. Now SS pulls guard (!?), Rosa is on top now, but he gest reversed, and now Soriano caught in an armbar, what a fight! They stand and trade bombs, guillotine choke for Rosa, turns it to a d’arce, and the ref stops it. Great sub by Rosa.

Sean O’Connell takes on Matt Van Buren at light-heavyweight, MVB comes out blasting with kicks, but OC is a tough dude. Van Buren with good clinch control, as O’Connell presses forward. Muay Thai display being put on by Van Buren, “The Real OC” looks beat already in round one. O’Connell rallies in round two, and he has MVB hurt, another great fight here.

Van Buren gets tagged in round three, and his eyes are rolling, wow, he survives, oh and again! The ref should stop this, O’Connell hits him with a huge left and a right, it’s over! Great comeback win, and third round TKO for “The Real OC”.

Tateki Matsuda and Joby Sanchez start the night off in entertaining fashion. Matsuda rocks Sanchez with the first right hand, but gets paid back and nearly stiffened out with a huge punch. The Jacksons product was unable to finish, as he nearly sunk in a choke. What a brawl! They enter round three bloodied and one round a piece. Matsuda landing with straight rights over and over, but now Sanchez flattens him with a huge right hand.
