UFC Fight Night 58 Open Workouts: Machida & Dollaway Hit The Pads
UFC Fight Night 58 goes down tomorrow night (Saturday, December 20th, 2014) in Barueri, Sao Paolo, Brazil. The hometown favorite Lyoto Machida will be battling it out in the main event with gritty wrestler-turned power puncher CB Dollaway. “”The Dragon” is coming off an exciting UFC 175 title fight with Chris Weidman, a fight in which he was on the losing end of the judge’s scorecards.
Dollaway is on the up right now, with two decent wins on the trot, and the last time he fought in Brazil was an impressive 39-second knockout against Cezar “Mutante” in his back yard. The styles suggest that this fight may be a pretty close one, but you’d have to think that Machida needs an imressive finish to hope for another title run.
Now age 36, Machida’s stock was riding high at middleweight after his knockout debut vs Mark Munoz. One tight win over Gegard Mousasi and the loss to “The All-American”, and the karate master from Brazil finds himself cornered once again. Will he circle out or look to clock “The Doberman” right between the eyes?
Judging by the UFC Fight Night 58 open workouts video, it doesn’t look like Machida is planning on blasting in the centre of the octagon. Then again, he could be keeping his cards close to his chest. Stay tuned to LowKickMMA.com for more UFC Fight Night 58 pre-fight hype and coverage.
