UFC Fight Night 54 is in the books from the Scotiabank Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the card delivered a solid if not spectacular evening of fights tonight (Sat., October 4, 2014).

Top-ranked welterweight Rory MacDonald scored his first finish in nearly two-and-a-half years by blasting former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine in the main event. For his efforts, “Ares” earned one of the UFC Fight Night 54 “Performance of the Night” bonuses that were announced at the post-fight presser.

The other “Performance of the Night” bonus went to Oliver Aubin-Mercier for his impressive inverted triangle submission of Jake Lindsey. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Nations finalist looks to be reinvented at welterweight.
