UFC 269 Betting Preview
The final pay-per-view card of the year is set to go down tomorrow night (December 11th) when UFC 269 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. The card is stacked from top to bottom and will feature two UFC title fights.
In the main event of the evening, Charles Oliveira makes the first defence of his lightweight title against Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.
Before that, Amanda Nunes will look to continue he dominant run as a dual-weight UFC champion when she takes on top bantamweight contender Julianna Pena.
Away from the title fights, we have several intriguing match-ups that feature the likes of former bantamweight champions Cody Garbrandt and Dominick Cruz as well as one of the fastest rising stars in MMA, ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley.

UFC 269 Main Card
Charles Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier
For us, the main event is a genuine 50/50 fight that could go either way. A lot of people are expecting Dustin Poirier to become champion and that includes the bookmakers who have him as the -150 favourite against ‘Do Bronx’ who is at odds of +125.
We will be backing Poirier but do so with the understanding that is not necessarily a safe bet. ‘The Diamond’ has the chin, heart, cardio, five-round experience heading into the fight, and we simply believe that all these things will pay dividends when it comes to the UFC 269 main event.
Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena
As expected, Amanda Nunes is a heavy -1000 favourite heading into her latest title defence against Julianna Pena who is at odds of +600.
Unless you are a high roller who isn’t afraid to risk a lot for a small win we would advise steering clear of betting on Nunes in this fight or at least trying to pick the specific finishing method or round to boost your odds.
We will be taking a punt on Pena. The odds are off in our opinion and Pena actually poses a much greater threat than the bookmakers and most fans give her credit for.
The Ultimate Fighter winner has strong grappling and is relentless when pursuing the takedown. Pena has the capability to out grapple Nunes and really tire her out on the mat before finding a finish.
Kai Kara France vs. Cody Garbrandt
The Aussie fighter is the man tasked with welcoming Cody Garbrandt to the flyweight division.
Kai Kara France has long been a player at 125lbs and has the chance to pick up the biggest win of his career at UFC 269.
‘No Love’ is in desperate need of a win. The former bantamweight champion has struggled for form in recent years and clearly has no future at 135lbs.
Despite that, Garbrandt is the -138 heading into his divisional debut, while KKF is considered the underdog at +110 underdog.
We tend to agree with the oddsmakers on this fight. Garbrandt probably should’ve dropped down in a weight a long time ago and we are expecting him to look better than ever in his flyweight debut.
Rulian Paiva vs. Sean O’Malley
This fight is being billed as a significant step up in opposition for Sean O’Malley but we don’t tend to agree with that notion.
Neither do the bookmakers who have ‘Suga’ the sizeable -330 favourite against +250 underdog Paiva.
We are expecting O’Malley to shine in this fight and perhaps finish it in the first round.
Paiva is a decent fighter but will be undersized and outgunned against a serious 135lb talent at UFC 269.
