It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, June 4th, 2016) will come in the form of UFC 199. Headlining the card are Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Brian Ortega (10-0, 1NC) and Clay Guida (32-16) closed the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 in a featherweight bout at UFC 199. Just when you count a guy out, he proves you wrong. Ortega did just that with 20-seconds left in the fight. In round 1, Ortega threw a kick, but it was caught by Guida. Guida was fighting smart and was getting in and out without being tagged. In round 2, Ortega was trying to throw head kicks, but Guida was moving out of the way and tagging him. Ortega was only 8% advancing while Guida was 41%. In round 3, Guida landed a spinning back kick and then tagged him with an overhand right. Things picked up with the last two minutes of the round. Ortega landed a big knee to the head and then finished him on the ground.

Beneil Dariush (13-2) and James Vick (9-1) met in a lightweight bout at UFC 199.  This one did not last long at all and it was exciting. Dariush was poked in the eye twice in this round. Dariush dropped him and tried to finish him on the ground but Vick got to his feet. Dariush hurt him and then landed a huge left hand. Vick was knocked out cold.

Jessica Penne (12-3) and Jessica Andrade (13-5) met in a women’s strawweight bout at UFC 199. Talk about a beat down. In round 1, Andrade came out and blitzed her with a series of strikes that stunned Penne. Andrade blitzed her again with 30-seconds left in the round. Penne couldn’t do much in this round and was back peddling. In round 2, Andrade continued to blitz Penne and dropped her again within the first minute of the round. Andrade pressed her up against the fence and finished her with strikes. Andrade might be the newest title contender in the strawweight division. Very impressive performance.
