UFC 188 Embedded Episode 4

With weigh-ins day only a few hours away, the UFC rolls on with the fourth episode of their UFC 188 Embedded v-log series.

In today’s episode, heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez finalizes his training, while his opponent Fabricio Werdum continues on and on about his much-publicized trash talk that Velasquez isn’t a ‘true Mexican.’ The interim champ argues that his daughter was born in America so is truly American, just like Velasquez.

Werdum heads to yesterday’s open workouts to thunderous applause, accepting a gift to insist Velasquez is American yet again on his ride away from the session. Velasquez arrives to bigger fanfare with fans chanting his name, and he thanks his Mexican brethren for propelling him to victory on Saturday.

Back at the hotel, light heavyweight champion and Velasquez teammate Daniel Cormier jokes (kind of) with Werdum that he should have just kept his mouth shut, and the two share a good laugh.

But Velasquez and Luke Rockhold talk some smack behind Werdum’s back, with Rockhold calling him ‘fake’ and saying he’s about to lose his belt.

Werdum closes by saying he simply said the truth about Velasquez, and that the champion won’t be beating him.
