UFC 183: Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann Highlights And Post-Fight Interview

UFC 183 went down tonight (January 31, 2015) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a stacked card from top to bottom, featuring many great fights and finishes. In the main event of the Fox Sports 1 prelims, women’s bantamweight contenders Miesha “Cupcake” Tate and Sara McMann battled it out in a back and forth showdown.

McMann came out firing early, looking to show off new and improved striking as she dropped Tate in the first round with a huge right hand. However, “Cupcake” battled back in the second round, landing more shots and attempting a submission. Early in the third, the former Strikeforce champion scored a takedown on the former Olympic wrestler and dominated the final round to earn a hard fought decision win. Check out the highlights below:

After the fight, Tate admitted that she was badly hurt in the first round and just tried to survive and hang on. She also mentioned that if she had a few more seconds in the second round, she could’ve finished the guillotine choke. Ultimately, the former champ said she had to fight tooth and nail and kept herself at the top of the division. Check out the full post-fight interview below:
