Twitter Reacts to Monumental UFC 200
UFC 200 erupted from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight (July 9, 2016), and it did not disappoint. Offering the best lineup of fighters in history, the event included two title fights and multiple legends and former champions.
After Jon Jones was removed from the card, the greatest middleweight ever, Anderson Silva, stepped in on two days’ notice to fight light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. In their three-round non-title bout, Cormier dominated behind his wrestling and top control.
The co-main event between heavyweight legends Brock Lesnar and Mark Hunt saw the WWE star return from a five year hiatus to take 29-28 scorecards across the board. Lesnar won the first round with a takedown and ground and pound, lost the second when both fighters were gunshy when Lesnar couldn’t take it to the floor, and dominated the third by snatching another takedown, mounting Hunt, and bashing away with his massive fists.
And finally, in the main event, bantamweight champion Miesha Tate took on powerful Brazilian striker Amanda Nunes. The challenger proved too powerful and too accurate for Tate, smashing her on the feet and then taking her out with a rear naked choke in the first round.

See that lockdown Silva is using? Good news: he’s keeping Cormier from passing. Bad news: he’s keeping himself underneath with no guard.

The crowd booing the mere idea of a takedown is perfect.
Stand ‘n’ bang, you coward. You’re never going to get knocked out like this.
— The Naked Gambler (@NakedGambling) July 10, 2016
Boo Cormier then cheer Jon Jones, cheer Cormier when Jones is out, boo Cormier when he fights Silva. MMA fans are very, very dumb. #UFC200

Both Jon Jones & DC’s most recent performances have been lacklustre
The opponent switches looked like they hindered both of their fights
