Twitter Reacts To Jon Jones Walking Through Anthony Smith After Illegal Knee
Last night’s (Sat. March 2, 2019) UFC 235 pay-per-view (PPV) main event didn’t end without a little bit of controversy.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones successfully defended his title for the first time since 2015. He walked through Anthony “Lionheart” Smith with relative ease. However, in the fourth round, Jones hit Smith with an illegal knee that could’ve gotten him disqualified, and resulted in the second defeat of his career by the same method.
Smith could’ve taken the victory, and the title, but opted not to. He wanted to win the title legitimately instead of “stealing” it. Jones was deducted two points from the scorecards, but still went on to win via unanimous decision.
