TUF 25 Finale Preliminary Results: Angela Hill Decisions Ashley Yoder

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Friday, July 7, 2017) will come from in the form of TUF 25 Finale. Headlining the card are Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Angela Hill vs. Ashley Yoder in a strawweight bout closes the preliminary card on FOX Sports 1. In round 1, after having a feeling out process, Hill clinches with her up against the fence. They separated. Yoder was kicking early to keep range while Hill was looking for angles. Hill swarming into the pocket as Yoder backs herself to the cage. Big head kick from Hill to end the round. In round 2, Yoder with a takedown to start the round. Hill got out of it and to her feet then took her down. Hill lets her get back to her feet, and they exchanged to the bell. In round 3, Yoder diving on a single leg. Hill was scrambling through it. Now sitting on Yoder’s back. Hill able to work out of that takedown and get back up quickly. They exchanged to the bell. Hill picked up the unanimous decision victory.

Tom Gallicchio vs. James Krause is next in a welterweight bout. In round 1, Gallicchio takes him down within the first thirty seconds of the round. Gallicchio took his back moments later but Krause stood up, and they were separated. Krause stuffs a takedown, piecing Gallicchio up as Gallicchio marches forward.In round 2, Gallicchio started to get some moment going by landing some combos and leading with his right hand. Krause was looking to counter strike as Gallicchio was getting tired. In round 3, Krause with a light 1-2 combo. Gallicchio with an ugly shot behind it that but Krause walked out of. Gallicchio looks gassed and bloody at this point. Krause landed a head kick then shut down a takedown attempt, and they exchanged shots to end the round. Krause picked up the decision win.

Ed Herman vs. C.B. Dollaway is next in a middleweight bout. In round 1, Herman clubs Dollaway right out of the gate. Dollaway responds with a series of hard clinch knees then scores a takedown. Dollaway works him over with strikes while staying in top position. In round 2, Herman was swinging hard early, and he put Dollaway on his back with pressure. Dollaway back up and he’s trying to find a way to box without Herman plugging him with something wild. Dollaway was going for a heel hook from guard.Herman out and he’s diving back on Dollaway. In round 3, Dollaway picked up where he left off as he took Herman down right away. Dollaway was dropping a few elbows and strikes. Both fighters were exhausted at this point. The judges gave the win to Dalloway by decision.

Juliana Lima vs. Tecia Torres in a strawweight bout opens the FOX Sports 1 preliminary bouts. In round 1, Lima clinches with her right up against the fence. Lima with a nice takedown off a caught kick early. Torres up now and tried for her own takedown then wrapped up in the clinch on a guillotine attempt. Lima was showing a lot of straight punches to keep Torres out of the pocket. Torres rushed in for the clinch instead to end the round. In round 2, Torres scored a takedown and got her back right away. She locked in the rear-naked choke for the win. This marked Torres’ first stoppage win of her career.

The only bout on the UFC Fight Pass prelims is Gray Maynard vs. Teruto Ishihara in a featherweight bout. In round 1, after having a feeling out process, Maynard scored a takedown. Ishihara back to his feet, but Maynard is looking to swamp him with control wrestling as he has him down again. Maynard all over Ishihara’s back, but let Ishihara up trying to get back control.In round 2, Maynard still not able to land much actual offense. He’s got Ishihara down, but that’s about it. In round 3, Maynard scores a takedown right out of the gate. Maynard stayed on him for the rest of the round and landing some big ground and pound. A one-sided fight, which the judges agreed with and awarded Maynard a decision win.
