If you haven’t seen the second episode of TUF”>TUF 14 yet beware of spoilers below. Click here to watch the full episode for free from the official Ultimate Fighter website.
Another episode in the books Lowkick’ers, another solid hour of reality television. I’m sure those of you reading this are familiar with the “TUF Formula”. What that means is that every episode needs to have three things and these are usually highlighted in each episode. You got to have a featured fight of course, a few pranks, and what’s The Ultimate Fighter without drama? Without having to sound like a broken record week in and week out, I have created a very short recap of went down in episode two.
TUF 14 – Episode 2 notes:
-The fighters moved into the house, picked their beds, and had a barbeque.
–Michael Bisping and Jason Miller selected their teams; Bisping had first pick while Miller picked the first fight.
-The first matchup is chosen between Marcus Brimage and Bryan Caraway.
-Miller visits his team at the house and brings a gift; Normatec MVP Pro compression suits to help them recover faster after training.
-Marcus gets help from Bisping and his team with cutting weight while Bryan deals with severe anxiety issues about the fight.
-Team Mayhem take all the tires from the gym and stick them in Team Bisping’s change room, making it difficult for Team Bisping fighters to get inside.
–Bryan Caraway defeated Marcus Brimage via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:55 of round 2.
My Two cents:
-Pretty solid episode, both coaches seem to be bonding with their chosen fighters pretty well. I found Jason Miller’s strategy in picking guys similar to his style to be very interesting and of course smart.
-I truly feel this is TUF’s highest caliber of fighters living in the house and that anyone could take it, but at the moment I feel Bryan Caraway with his experience and style I feel he is a favorite to win the featherweight portion of the show. In bantamweight department, I think John Dodson has a legit shot at winning it. It’s kind of early in the show to tell who could be crowned The Ultimate Fighter, but those two would be safe bets at the moment.
