Tony Ferguson Says UFC’s Fight Offer Doesn’t Meet ‘Standards’
Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has reportedly been offered a fight but he is unsure if it meets his or his crew’s “standards”.
Ferguson’s next fight has been a topic of discussion in MMA for some time. He has been linked to fights with everyone from lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagoemdov to featherweight king Max Holloway.
However, neither of those fights have come to fruition as of yet. Or have they? Earlier today “El Cucuy” Tweeted that he, in fact, had been offered a fight but he isn’t sure if it meets his standards:
I Have Been Offered A Fight, But Not Sure If It Meets Our Standards Crew. We Deserve Better For The Amount Of Work & Supoort We Put In. Team El Cucuy- Champ Shit Only ? @AudieAttar @ParadigmSM pic.twitter.com/BPw9mJSH2t

There is no reason to not take Ferguson at his word here. There has been a lot of buzz around a potential interim lightweight title fight between Ferguson and Holloway at UFC 236.
However, considering the magnetite of that match-up, it’s unlikely “El Cucuy” would not be stoked for such a contest.
