Tony Ferguson Issues Warning To Khamzat Chimaev: ‘Sit Down, Shut Up Before I Make You My B*tch’
Faltering former interim UFC lightweight titleholder, Tony Ferguson has been linked with a potential welterweight division return amid his three-fight skid at lightweight, and appears to have taken umbrage with recent comments dished out by the #10 ranked contender, undefeated force, Khamzat Chimaev.
Oxnard native, Ferguson last featured in May of this year in the co-headliner of UFC 262 — suffering a third consecutive, one-sided loss in the form of a unanimous decision loss to the #3 ranked contender, Beneil Dariush.
The loss came as the California favorite’s third straight, off the back of a dominant judging loss to current lightweight titleholder, Charles Oliveira last December, following a hugely-damaging eventual fifth round knockout loss to fellow former interim gold holder, Justin Gaethje in May of last year at UFC 249.
Linked with a welterweight return, a prior stomping ground where he clinched The Ultimate Fighter 13 back in 2011, Ferguson has called out and received a call out of his own from former lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz, however, any sort of pairing has yet to come to fruition.
Prior to his loss against Arizona striker, Gaethje, Ferguson had established a division-best, staggering 12-fight winning spree, which included an interim lightweight coronation against the recently released, Kevin Lee, however, had never challenged for undisputed gold under the organization’s banner.
Despite recent claims from UFC president, Dana White that Ferguson currently has no interest in a return to the Octagon, for the time being, the latter has been rather vocal across his social media platforms, firing barbs toward Diaz, former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor — and now Chimaev, who himself told former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington, that he represented the United States more than him.
Tony Ferguson takes umbrage with recent comments made by welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev
Appearing to take a dislike toward those comments from Chechen-born finisher, Chimaev, Ferguson claimed that the undefeated challenger failed to make weight for his recent UFC 267 victory over Li Jingliang — where it appears the AllStars MMA trainee pushed down on a privacy towel.
“@KChimaev the f*ck you do,” Tony Ferguson tweeted at Khamzat Chimaev. “Ya can’t event make weight like fathead @TeamKhabib. Sit down shut up before I make you my bitch. Where were you during the start of the pandemic? #Merica’MF -CSO-.“
Prior to his string of three straight defeats, Ferguson had bested the likes of Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Rafael dos Anjos, Edson Barboza, Josh Thomson, and Gleison Tibau.
