Tim Kennedy Calls Out Michael Bisping On Twitter
Tim Kennedy scored an impressive first round finish at Wednesday’s UFN 31, knocking out Rafael Natal in front of his fellow troops and earning a $50k knockout of the night bonus for his efforts.
Kennedy suddenly finds himself in good contention at 185lbs., so the obvious question is who should he face next? Kennedy has his own opinion on who he should face, taking to his twitter account to voice it:
I don’t think I have earned a shot at any of the top guys. I think the @UFC should give me someone like @bisping

Michael Bisping is usually the first guy that gets called out in these situations, probably due to the fact that he may come across as slightly unlikable. Yet this particular match up does make some sense, and could be quite entertaining.
Kennedy’s only losses in the last six years have come to Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza in Strikeforce Middleweight title fights. He is riding a three fight win streak and probably deserves a shot against a top five opponent.
Bisping is currently ranked number four in the world by the UFC’s official ranking system, so a fight with ‘The Count’ would certainly be against one of the top guys. With a win against The Brit, Kennedy would put himself in an ideal place in the stacked 185lb. class; and may get the chance to avenge his loss against the number three ranked De Souza.
Bisping has been a perennial contender in the UFC’s Middleweight division for a long time now, amassing a 14-5 record within the promotion since joining after winning TUF 3 in 2006. ‘The Count’ has often fallen short of his biggest tests during his time with Zuffa, dropping losses to Chael Sonnen, Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.
A win against Kennedy could prove the tipping point for Bisping’s title hopes, and could potentially earn him a title contender match. How crazy would it be to see Bisping finally fight for a title? I know he is loud mouthed, and arrogant, but he has started to grow on me.
He always comes in shape and ready to fight, as does the U.S. Ranger Kennedy; I’m really starting to like the idea of this fight. Are you?
