5618260079 032fa4d42eThiago Alves will meet Martin Kampmann in the main event of the UFC on FX 2 card, which is set to take place this Saturday in Sydney, Australia.

Alves is coming off a victory in his last bout, handing UFC newcomer Papy Abedi the first loss of his nine fight MMA career. For his part, Kampmann will also enter the fight coming off a victory, taking a decision over Rick Story at UFC 139.

Before defeating Abedi, Alves had gone 1-3 in his four previous fights, but despite that losing record he will enter the fight against Kampmann with a great deal of confidence, “It doesn’t matter where the fight goes. It’s going to be my fight. I’m very concerned with what I’m going to do to him. I’m going to try to break him whether it’s in the stand-up or on the ground. I have all the respect in the world for Martin Kampmann and his camp, but I truly believe that I’m going to break him, it doesn’t matter where the fight goes.” – for more see MMAWeekly.com
