Tatsuya Kawajiri Cruises To Unanimous Decision Win Over Jason Knight

Mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran and former Shooto lightweight champion Tatsuya Kawajiri (35-8-2) did battle with rising featherweight bruiser Jason Knight (13-2) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 Finale in Las Vegas.

Kawajiri swung for the fences with a spinning backfist, but missed. “Crusher” took Knight down and “The Kid” went for a triangle off his back. Knight landed some stinging elbows with his opponent’s head trapped. Kawajiri escaped the hold and landed a couple of elbows to the head. “Crusher” connected with some hammerfists. A cut formed on “The Kid’s” cheek.

“Crusher” immediately threw a high kick and a spinning backfist at the opening of the second stanza. Kawajiri secured a takedown. Knight kept fishing for a triangle, but couldn’t get anything going. Referee “Big” John McCarthy stood the men back up, but “Crusher” quickly dumped his adversary back to the mat.

Kawajiri opened the third round with a spinning back kick to the body. “The Kid” found himself on his back yet again. The competitors were stood back up, but Kawajiri dumped Knight back down. Another stand up led to another takedown for “Crusher” and time expired.

The decision was abundantly clear.

Final Result: Tatsuya Kawajiri def. Jason Knight via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
