Stephan Bonnar: I really think this is all meant to be
UFC Light Heavyweight doesn’t care what all the critics think about his thrown-together bout with Anderson Silva at UFC 153. He’s thankful for a chance to fight a legend, and have a shot at what some may deem the biggest upset in the history of the sport. Next weekend, he’ll be glad to stand and trade with Silva, and he believes that this may be his time to shine in a big way:
“This is like the culmination of it all. I really think it’s all meant to be, it’s perfect it really is. It feels like all the stars are aligning just like it did on that magical night for the UFC back when I fought Forrest for the first time. I could shock the world.” – via MMAFighting.com
Bonnar has a new and unique set of beliefs on how this all came to be. The truth of the matter is,he is one of the biggest underdogs in history even despite the fact that he will enter the cage as the much larger fighter. Dana White has even deemed this size advantage “crazy” as both prepare for the fast-approaching bout. Regardless if you think Bonnar himself is crazy for stepping into the cage with Silva, you have to admire his heart. Bonnar has even resorted to throwing any technical gameplanning essentially out the window, ready for a knockdown brawl in Rio:
“I mean look at every fight I’ve ever had, always had, I’ve been hit with lots of big shots, but I get up and keep coming. I’m not to fixed on the outcome so much. I’m just going to give him hell and give him everything I’ve got in there and do my absolute best. And we’ll see, that can lead to a victory.”
Could Stephan Bonnar make this much more of a fight than we are planning on, or is it just another devastating KO for the Spider?
