SERRA VS. LYTLE REMATCH HEADED TO UFC 119

The bout was confirmed to MMAjunkie.com Saturday from sources close to this fight. The welterweight bout will be between the always exciting Chris Lytle who has a MMA record of (29-17-5MMA)(8-9UFC) facing off against the Ultimate 4 winner Matt ‘The Terra’ Serra who holds a MMA record of (11-6MMA)(7-6UFC). This bout is set to take place on one of the main cards of the event. Both fighters have agreed and the finalization of the bout is expected shortly.

Now this will be a quick return to action for Lytle since he is just coming off an impressive victory at UFC 118 where he submitted the always tough Matt Brown which many believe should have earned Lytle ‘Submission of the Night’ honours but that title went to UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar for his 2nd round sub over knockout artist Shane Carwin.

As for Matt Serra, last time we saw him in action was at UFC 109 where he TKO’d Frank Trigg.

With Lytle on on a 3 fight winning streak (The 1st 3 fight winning streak of his carreer) he will look to go to 4 fight win streak but he will have another tough test ahead of him in Matt Serra. Whoever wins, this is going to have all the ingredients for ‘Fight of the Night’ which would be nothing new for Chris Lytle since he has received seven Fight of the Night honours in his last 9 fights.
